Q5. My internet service seems slower than normal. What could be the problem? |
|
|
A. If your problem
seems to be isolated to one website, they are probably overloaded or having
other technical difficulties. If this
problem is noticeable everywhere on the internet, be sure you don?t have any
P2P Filesharing (music downloading) programs running. These applications are notorious for
utilizing extreme amounts of bandwidth. If you are experiencing an unusual amount of pop-up ads or your computer
is acting strange in other ways, you may have adware or viruses and you should
have your computer looked at by a technician. You may also try unplugging any wireless routers, cordless telephones,
or other wireless devices you may have in your home or business. If performance improves, try changing the
channel of the device if possible. If
the device in question is not configurable, we recommend replacing the device
with equipment that is on a different frequency than your wireless
receiver. Information about your wireless
receiver can be obtained by phoning our office.
